Marshall Studio 15

A Marshall Studio 15 15w valve head and 1 x 12 cab pre owned by Martin Barre of Jethro Tull and used on the ‘Crest of a Knave’ and ‘Rock Island’ albums and tours. It is marked up with Martin’s then home address and is No. 4 of 6 in his rig. This is the recording amp as it was taken out of its combo casing and flight-cased to facilitate ease of DI recording at Ian Anderson’s home. A historic amp that sounds like a small Marshall Jubilee.

PRICE – £950

1988 USA Rickenbacker 230 Hamburg Mapleglow – £750

This is a superb and increasingly rare Rickenbacker 230 Hamburg in Mapleglow. It is hard to believe that this is the ‘budget’ model against the El Dorado range because the build quality and sound is fantastic! The Mapleglow finish has taken the effects of years on the road well with some marking and ‘buckle rash’ but the finish has absorbed it well.

The bound and lacquered rosewood fretboard shows hardly any wear at all.

1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom USA Ebony – SOLD

This is a fantastic 1990 Gibson Les Paul Custom in ebony with ebony fingerboard and gold plated hardware. All original throughout with some light play wear and lots of crazing to the finish especially around the headstock and between the controls. Other than that it is an unmarked all original guitar.

1976 Gibson Thunderbird “Bicentennial” – £2450

This is a natural finish 1976 Gibson Thunderbird from the Bicentennial Series with the eagle on the pick-guard. In excellent all original condition throughout with only very light marking on the headstock. This is in superb condition with no breaks especially to the neck headstock joint which these basses are very prone to! A fantastic bass guitar throughout and a lovely instrument for the player or collector. Comes with a pink velvet lined original shaped Gibson case.

1997 Gibson ES5 Reissue Antique Sunburst Custom and Historic with case – SOLD

This is a discontinued and now ultra rare Gibson ES5 Reissue in Antique Sunburst. It is a Gibson Custom and Historic Guitar produced by the Gibson Custom Shop. A deep jazz body is combined with 3xP90 pickups and flame top, back, sides and neck. This is a marvellous rare guitar that can only appreciate in value due to both the limited production run and few that arrived in the U.K.

1972 Fender Jazzmaster, Sunburst, Rosewood Board – All Original – £2250

This is a 1972 Fender Jazzmaster that has been gigged constantly since new by the same owner. It was bought in 1973 in Manny’s New York store and has been owned by the same guitarist until 2006 when we bought it from him. Suffice to say it is all original and has seen plenty of gigs all around Europe and beyond.

Fender call this kind of thing ‘relic’ we call it a beautiful well played…

1977 Musicmaster Bass Black with Rosewood Fretboard – £450

A very nice well prented Musicmaster Bass from 1977 in Black. I have seen these listed on Ebay for as much as £800, but meanwhile back in the real world… This is a great little short scale bass very punky and suitable for post punk or ‘indie’ style of playing. It has a great ‘pop’ and ‘twang’ to its very distinctive tone.
There is some wear on the back of the neck and a couple of paint chips in the body, after all it is 30+ years old…
